Use our Tag functionality to find bills in a topic/subject matter you care about.

Our team at OurGov reads through every legislative proposal that’s introduced and categorizes it based on the bill contents. This means that you can rely on our team of professionals to correctly tag bills relevant to your interests.

Wisconsin’s Notify Service aims to solve a similar problem: “keep me up to date about bills I care about”. The core difference between subscribing to a tag like “🏷️ Education” in OurGov and creating a Notify subject “Education” is that the latter service puts the onus on you the consumer to identify keywords that indicate relevance.

That’s a big responsibility, and likely to be unreliable, as education-related bills may never mention common words like education, school, etc.. Here are just some of the terms you’d need to associate in the Notify service to find bills related to childhood education:

  1. parental choice programs
  2. school district
  3. athletic association
  4. kindergarten
  5. independent charter
  6. …and many more

You’d also need to somehow exclude bills that have terms like “high school” in their text, but really relate to voter registration (example: AB 462).

OurGov has a page for each tag, allowing you to see all of the bills and representatives that relate to that tag.

At OurGov, we do all of this work for you, and manually review every single proposed bill. We do this thoughtfully, and thoughtfully discriminate across different interests, like advocates focusing on college education (see: 🏷️ University tag) vs. those working at the primary education level.

This categorization work allows us to tell you who is most likely to support legislation on a given topic.

You can even add or remove bills to a public tag, like 🏷️ Education as you see fit.

Let us save you time.
